Paris, July 4, 2007

Though, the deadline of my diploma thesis is approaching with incredible pace, I decided to take a week off and to test the new train connection between Frankfurt and Paris to visit Dan, my girlfriend. There was something strange in Paris: Many shops are closed on mondays. Hence, I thought without any intentions that the french people have to recover from the weekend’s wine consumption. However, that was the wrong conclusion. One of my french friends elucidated the shop situation: The french shops are open over the weekend to make profit, simply because more people have time for shopping. In contrast to Germany, there won’t be anybody on the streets on sundays as the people prefer to stay at home.   Another thing, how does the french manage to have the most romantic sunsets every day in the Louvre? Every single day, the sun draw a tender yellow over the whole place. Perfect for some romantic photos.
